This historic train station, newly refurbished as a visitor center, is a great place to begin a visit to Springfield. Its tall clock tower makes it easy to find and a public parking garage and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum are just across the street. There are brochures on both local attractions and sites and events statewide. The staff will also help book hotel accommodations and special events packages anywhere in Illinois. Amenities include an accessible family restroom, wheelchair for use onsite, covered picnic tables and a ramped entrance on Madison St. Union Square Park is an attraction in itself with its beautiful flower gardens, benches and Lincoln statues. In summer performances such as the Sunset in Springfield Concert Series are held here.
