In the heart of our country stands the home of Vachel Lindsay - poet, illustrator, and pioneering film critic. From this lifelong base, Lindsay travelled America, thrilling early twentieth-century audiences with his powerful spoken-word performances. In his lifetime, Lindsay rose to international fame. Today, his words continue to inspire people of all ages. Located next door to the Executive Mansion, this 1840's Eastlake home inspires creativity.

Hours

  • Tours available by reservation only. Reservations can be made on EventBrite. Tour times available every day at 9:30, 11:00, 2:00 and 3:30.
  • Site Holiday Closings: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lincoln's Birthday, President's Day, Independence, Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Parking/Loading Zone

  • Parking available on the street via metered parking spots. Additional free parking available at the Dana-Thomas House lot, located approximately 2 blocks away on 4t and Cook.
